Electricity generated from solar energy in the United States has grown from 0.7% in 2014 to 2.2% in 2018 according to U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). In 2014 Solar PV systems that were over 1MW accounted for 61% of solar electricity generation in the United States. In 2018 that number grew to 68%. Small scale generation accounted for 39% of watts produced in 2014 and 32% of watts produced in 2018.
